Learn French in Antibes, a lovely resort located on the French South-East coast between Cannes and Nice, on the Côte d’Azur.
The city is divided into two parts. Encased by 16th-century ramparts, the historic old town is home to traditional shops and attractive restaurants. The more modern Juan-les-Pins district, located by the sea, is famous for its endless summer nightlife and beautiful beaches.
Antibes is also a city of culture. The old buildings and ramparts standing over a steep drop into the Mediterranean Sea have attracted the eyes and brushes of many painters, including Pablo Picasso.
With 300 days of sunshine a year and 6 miles of sandy beaches, Antibes is an ideal place to spend your holidays whatever your age.
From Antibes, it’s easy to take the train and explore the cities around like Saint-Tropez and Cannes or Italy.
Our partner school in Antibes has more than 30 years of experience and its quality is recognised by European EAQUALS accreditation and the French Government’s Qualité FLE label.
If you are more than 18 years old, whatever your level and your reasons to study French, you can complete this course.
You can choose to attend 20, 25 or 30 lessons of 45 minutes per week.
Morning lessons are from 9:00 AM to 12:20 PM (20-minute break included) with 12 students maximum.
They are focused on teaching general French. With this programme, you will acquire the necessary grammar for each level, work on your written and spoken language skills and comprehension.
You will use a variety of media as learning tools: graphic novels, press articles, videos, manuals and special material created by the teaching team.
Additional classes for the 25 and 30 lessons programme:
From 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, two afternoons per week (for the 25 lessons programme) or four afternoons per week (for the 30 lessons programme), 6 students maximum.
Afternoon lessons are focused on oral expression and listening comprehension, which help students to gain a deeper understanding of various aspects of French culture, lifestyle and civilisation. These afternoon lessons encourage the students to speak up and further develop their oral skills.
Your first day at school:
There are no lessons on the first Monday of your stay. You will take a written and oral french test to assess your language level and assign you to a class.
In the afternoon, you will take part in a guided tour of the town.
Our partner school organises activities for an additional price. You will be able to practice paddle boarding or visit a charming typical city by taking part in an excursion to St Paul de Vence for example. Usually, the school will let you know about these activities and the booking will be made with them.
We encourage you to join in some organised activities to have fun whilst practicing your French.
You also have the possibility to take the train to visit the beautiful French Riviera. Every half hour, there are trains to Cannes, Nice, Monaco or Italy.
You have the choice to stay with a local host family or in a standard room or studio in our partner school residence.
Accommodation is from the Sunday prior to the course start date until the Saturday after the end of the course (you can book extra-nights).
Our local host families are vetted and chosen rigorously by our language school partner. Most of them have been hosting for years. The location of their homes is not further than 30 minutes on foot or by bus from the school. Through living with a family, you will experience a full immersion in the country’s lifestyle and culture.
You can choose a single or a twin bedroom. If you choose a twin bedroom, we will try our best to place you with a student of a similar age who does not speak the same language as you. Only the breakfast is included in the standard price.
If you are over 25 years old, the twin bedroom is not available, only if you make a booking together.
Standard rooms are in a residence with a nice garden and TV room, located at 15-minute walk from the school.
Rooms consist of: 1 or 2 single beds, or 1 double bed, bathroom with toilets and shower, a closet and a table with a chair.
Our studios are located 20-minute walk from the school.
