Our school in Biarritz runs a specific golfing course, giving you the perfect opportunity to combine your French tuition with golf lessons!
Either you are a beginner or you are an experienced golfer, you will enjoy our special programme in the International Training Center and Golf Course of Ilbarritz.
Once you have visited Biarritz’s historical sites and enjoyed playing golf, take some time to explore the cities around like Bayonne for its exquisite gastronomy or try Basque pelota, the traditional sport of the region.
Biarritz is a small town, so it’s easy to meet people, and you’ll have plenty of opportunities to speak French with the locals!

Our partner school in Biarritz has more than 15 years of experience and is accredited by the French Ministry of Education. The teachers are all native speakers and are FLE university graduates (diploma of French teaching as a Foreign Language) and have significant teaching experience in France and abroad. Some of them have additional training in other sectors (foreign languages, communication, etc…).
You will study in a beautiful area not far from the city center which is easily accessible on foot (10 minutes) or with the free shuttle. The school offers a family atmosphere with a maximum capacity of 84 international students.
This programme is specifically designed to combine french courses and golf.
Morning lessons are focus on teaching general French. You will improve all your language skills. It covers communication, expression, listening activities, essay planning, grammar and vocabulary, in a group of 13 students maximum (8 on average). A french manual is provided.
Classes take place Monday to Friday, 9:30 am – 12:30 pm (including a break of 15 minutes). You will attend 20 lessons per week.
3 afternoons per week, you will take part to 2 hours of golf lessons.
On the first day, you will take a written and oral French test to assess your language level and assign you to a class. In the afternoon, a guided tour of the town will introduce you to places of interest for the best experience.
Your programme includes 3 sessions of 2 hours of golf per week, suitable for beginners or experienced golfers.
The Ilbarritz course is an impressive 9 holes course facing the ocean. It’s a par 32, with a 2,176 meters length period. It’s a very technical course set up as a practice run for the apprenticeship.
This unusual concept recreates all the game situations found on a real Golf Course around a circular practice course.
Sessions are supervised by a qualified golf instructor.
Equipment is provided.
In the afternoon or evening, our partner school organises activities for an additional price: rafting, sea kayaking, hiking, basque pelota, visits to museums and traditional villages, cooking classes, etc…
Each activity is supervised by a qualified professional.
We encourage you to join in some organised activities to have fun whilst practicing your French.
Our partner school offers accommodation in a host family.
We advise you to stay with a local host family. Through living with a family, you will experience a full immersion in the country’s lifestyle and improve your french.
Our local host families are vetted and chosen rigorously by our language school partner. Most of them have been hosting for years. The location of their homes is an average 20 minutes on foot from the school.
You have the choice between full or half board.
Accommodation is from the Sunday prior to the course start date until the Saturday after the end of the course (you can book extra-night).
You can choose this programme without accommodation.
