Standard French Course
12-17 year-olds are taught general French with a focus on learning the essential spoken, written, and grammar competencies for each level. Through active teaching methods developed by our french school in Cannes, and short teaching sequences alternating phases of concentration and interaction, teachers hold the interest of kids and teens and engage them in written and spoken production as well as reading and listening comprehension.
In line with the levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, teachers bring their students on by creating learning and classroom activities that hold the interest of young learners. During the 3 hours of each morning session.
Intensive French course
Available for an additional cost (+€80/week)
This course is aimed at students wishing to make rapid progress. It complements the morning classes and students work on their spoken language skills. Here, in a relaxed atmosphere, the teacher seeks to establish automatic responses, helping students to reproduce and research information and assimilate language acts and structures in line with the objectives of each level.
For this, the teacher facilitates discussion and encourages everyone to contribute through starter activities to prompt oral communication, conversations, role-play, and debates.
In Cannes, there are a number of age groups, a wide range of activities, and a dedicated counselor for each group of 12 teens.
Our group leaders are always on hand to respond to teens’ requests, organize games, share meals, and more generally be around them and assist them.
In addition to organizing activities, acting as chaperones, and planning excursions and parties, our group leaders are chosen and trained to offer teens a caring presence and sense of security. They know that teens need time alone, but not too much….that younger kids sometimes need encouragement…or supervision, and that their chaperone should lead by example.

Safety
Beyond the requirements of the license awarded by the French authorities for the supervision and the facilities for minors, our french school takes great care in monitoring the comings and goings of kids and teens.
Activity teams record students as they arrive and leave and ensure that parental permissions are enforced and that everyone gets back safely without leaving anything to chance. At night the supervisors, managers, and activity leaders, sleep on-site whilst night wardens are on duty by 7.30 pm.
Cannes is a city where kids and teens can quickly find their bearings and make French friends on the beaches of La Bocca.
More than on the upmarket Croisette, it is on these beaches, a hang-out for French teens, behind the old port, that students will find the friendly and affordable environment favored by this age group. Leaders will never be far away.
Choosing Cannes means choosing a rich language program that is a blend of theoretical French language classes put into practice through role play modules with the local population.
As such, through these modules kids and teens will experiment with working towards a shared objective in addition to learning French. In so doing they will have developed confidence in their ability to have practical real-life interactions.
The program is open to 12- and 17-year-olds, although the majority of the teens on campus are aged 15-17.
Note that 16- and 17-year-olds can be given parent permission for a 1 a.m. curfew on Friday and Saturday nights.
My daughter had an amazing 2 weeks at the French camp! She worked on her French, made wonderful new friends and grew in her independence. She is looking forward to returning next summer (hopefully for a longer stay!) We will also be sending our younger child, as well! This program is a very well priced, compared to similar programs. The only negative we heard from our daughter was that the dinner food could use improving (breakfast and lunch were good.)
